Not only is she a certified teacher, and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, but she also holds specialist qualifications in Special Education, English as a Second Language, as well as her Principals’ Qualifications.

Mrs. Goode’s first 11 years of teaching were spent within the public education system teaching in special education contained classrooms, as well as in the “regular” classroom. She has extensive experience servicing the needs of students with a variety of learning profiles including, and her tremendous efforts in education, especially for children with special learning needs, were recognized in 2005 when she was awarded a Teacher of the Year Award from the Council for Exceptional Children. Since 2008, Mrs. Goode has been director of Goode Educational Services Inc., providing educational consultation and comprehensive tutoring services to students throughout Ontario. To date, her extensive work in education has taken her into twenty-three different school boards across the province of Ontario, and into countless private schools and post-secondary institutions both at the college and university levels. She has been a guest speaker at conferences and she has provided professional development to schools across the Greater Toronto Area. These experiences were instrumental in informing her vision of GlenOak Academy.

Job Description:

A teacher is responsible for preparing lesson plans and educating students at all levels. Their duties include assigning homework, grading tests, and documenting progress. Teachers must be able to instruct in a variety of subjects and reach students with engaging lesson plans

Responsibility:

1. To plan and prepare appropriately the assigned courses and lectures.
2. To conduct assigned classes at the scheduled times.
3. To demonstrate competence in classroom instruction.
